1. Article Literature

MLA International Bibliography and Directory of Periodicals is the premier scholarly database focused on English, literature, and linguistics. However, Searching all the library's holdings, with EBSCO's discovery service, may yeild additional results from academic disciplines besides the Modern Languages.

2. Background Information

There are several places to look for English background information. Our physical collection's reference section has a number of helpful resources of English background information. For electronic resources, both Gale Virtual Reference Library and Ebrary eBooks are good places to search.

3. Statistical Information

Google Ngrams is a helpful place to search for statistics on the written word. It graphs word frequencies within the Google Books corpus.

4. Primary Sources and Literary Criticism

We purchase most primary source materials in print. We purchase most literary criticism in electronic format, which are available through our various databases.
